Three weeks on.......

I find it really funny when you have a baby, people ask you 'Is he a good baby?' well apart from drinking milk and sleeping at this age, the babies don't really do much more than that. I figure as long as Mr Mitchell is doing that, then he is a good baby! He is on 3 hourly feeds, day and night, so I guess you can say I am not getting too much sleep at the moment. It is hard but this baby stage is so precious and gorgeous and lasts for such a short amount of time, that I am grinning and bearing it!
.
Here are some pictures of my second little treasure - I think already his features are changing and he is developing his own character.

It took nearly two weeks but we finally manged to get a photo of the two boys - Harrison will never make it as a model, because when you tell him to smile this is what you get! LOL

Here I am with my boys - just missing Graham for a family shot, but I figure we will get one eventually!!!!

Mitchell Ashley - The First Day.......

Ok well as expected we have a new little addition to our family. Mitchell Ashley was born on the 5th January 2009 at 10:11am weighing 3.95kg or 8lb 11oz.

Labour wise it seemed to be a lot easier 2nd time round. I was given a hormone on the Sunday night, with the expectation that nothing would happen until the next day.

Of course I would have a baby that does the unexpected, because I officially started my labour and contractions at 2:30am. After receiving some much needed pain relief (Pethidine and Epidural) I went through most of the night fairly comfortable, but no sleep. At 8:30am my doctor advised that I was 4cm dilated and would probably not have the baby until after lunch. Again the unexpected, when just about 40 minutes later, the baby moved into position and as mentioned by 10:11am little Mitchell Ashley was born.

Here are a few pictures of Mitchell taken within the hour of his birth

A very proud mum and dad - definately not a glamour shot, but the first one we have.....

Next, sorry if you are squeamish but this is Graham getting to cut the cord for the second time, this is the closer cut to the belly button clamp.

At 53cm long, I guess we have another tall baby on our hands.

3.95kg or if you prefer the old system 8lb 11oz

At least dad could pose for some decent photos - I was not up for it!

These are just a couple of photos of Mitchell I thought I would share of my boys first moments after birth. I will post shortly some photos taken when he has been cleaned up and looking even more spunky!

A Baby Mc Update......

To my lovely friends and family waiting on the news of the arrival of Baby Mc, well all I can say is that the time is nearly here! I am currently 38 weeks pregnant, and have been informed by my doctor that I am having a giant baby and that if bubs does not come by itself within the next week, that I will be induced on the 5 January 2008.

Not that I particularly like my photo taken at the moment, but I thought that this bubs deserved a side view shot, because I never had one taken before Harrison was born - being a month early with Harrison, we never got a chance to have the horrid shot done!!!!

I feel much more exhausted, tired and bigger, than what I ever did with Harrison, but possibly the wonderful festive season has not helped that too much!

So all I can say is watch this space for Baby Mc news, because it seems that it is now less than a week for when baby Mc will enlighten us all with its wonderful presence.

Wish me luck - quick and painless is the words I like to hear!!!!

Christmas Morning - Yes Harrison got Henry.......!

As mentioned in my previous blogs, all Harrison wanted for Christmas was a 'Henry' train from Thomas the Tank Engine, which Santa happily obliged, and honestly no other toy on the morning got a look in!

We possibly made the big mistake of allowing Santa's present to be opened first, because hidden in Santa's loot was not only 'Henry' but 'Molly', 'Skarloey' and 'James'. That is four trains to add to his Thomas the Tank collection!

Not even the lure of a trampoline, a bike, cars, trucks or books could get him away from his new train collection. The below photo was taken when Harry gave his new trampoline about 2 minutes attention. Mind you, a few days after Christmas and we can now not get him off the Trampoline!!!!

S A Brewery Christmas Lights 2008

A couple of weeks ago, we took Harrison, Tre and Mum to the West End Brewery Christmas Lights (Hindmarsh SA).

Considering it is summer, surprisingly we all needed to rug up in the good old winder jumpers for a cool but clear evening checking out Christmas lights.

It is amazing how packed out with people it gets, and we all kind of felt like sheep being herded into a pen. Harrison loved it though!!!!

A family shot - don't know why my mum felt she needed to give me extra room in the photo though....... must have felt my 'wide load' needed the extra attention!!!! ;-)

This is a great shot of two very adorable cousins........

This is a great shot of Nan with her "boys" - don't worry mum, ill get a copy of this one for you - finally a photo where you all have a lovely smile!

I had to include the snow man - seriously, can this thing look any more creepy? The only think more scary was the 'Jack In A Box' that looked more like the clown out of Stephen Kings book "IT".

Lots of Santa Visits......2008

Well tis the season to be Jolly, and what better way than lots of Christmas parties for Mr Harrison and lots of visits to tell Santa what he wants for Christmas. Each visit was the same, there was no changing his requests - Harrison has asked Santa for a 'Henry Train' to go with his Thomas The Tank Train track that he got for his birthday.

Below is a picture of Harrison taken at the Entertainment Centre staff Christmas party, this was the first trip of the year with Santa, he was nervous, but still managed a forced smile for the camera!!!!

Next we had the social club Christmas party from my work, and since it was held at the Aquatic Centre, I think Santa got a soggy knee from wet children by the end of the day!!!

This photo was luckily taken about 20 minutes before Harrison fell over his new toy, and put his top teeth through his bottom lip - blood everywhere sent us into a panic, but after it all settled, and he was given an ice block, he was a little happier. An afternoon nap in the car on the way home seemed to make it all better!!!!

OK, now this is the official Christmas photo taken with Santa at Myer, we had a lovely Santa, who was a little surprised that Harrison wanted nothing more than a 'Henry Train' for Christmas - I guess a store Santa is used to big demands from lots of children!

The day before this photo was taken, Graham thought it would be good to try out the new hair clippers we got given (Thank you Leanne and Barry!!). Well now my lovely little boy looks like he has as much hair as he did the day he was born - bald bald bald!!!!! Oh well a buzz cut looks kind of cute, ill get used to it, and it will grow back soon!!

2008 Childcare Photos

Well my Mr Harrison is still a spunky bum, but do you think that he would even give a forced smile when he had his official childcare photo's this year?

Mind you I look back on this blog from the photos from last year, and at least he is not crying through the photos. He looks so big now, these were taken in October, so at age 3 years 3 months, he really is growing into quite a little boy now.

Harrison is doing so much more this year, his speech has picked up to the point of full conversations (and attitude to go with it), he is playing more and being more adventurous. He really is a completely different child to the toddler I had 12 months ago!

I know I keep saying it, but where does the time go!

A moment of fun

Ok yes this is a little dumb, but I have been sitting here with Harrison playing on the computer and we made some fun pictures on a website I found - thought I had better add them, because when he is old enough to read this, he will know that we are both a little crazy! :-)

Sarah wins the 'Pride of Australia Medal'

Well I am a very proud god parent at the moment, because on the 17th October my God daughter Sarah won an award titled 'The Pride of Australia'.
She won it in the category of 'Young Aussie Award' and she basically was a victim of bullying at school, and instead of staying a victim, she started an online blog to help other children facing the same issues to speak out.
.
If it works, you can read more about the actual award and other winners at the following link: http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0,22606,24509363-5006301,00.html
.
Or you can check out Sarah's very personal blog at: http://www.blognow.com.au/stopbullyingme
.
Graham and I are very proud of Sarah, she is such a grounded and special little girl, and I hope that uses this award to continue her quest to help other children who are victims of school yard bullying.

CONGRATULATIONS SARAH - WELL DONE

Amy and Bryan's Wedding Day

On Friday the 17th October, I had the pleasure of witnessing the nuptials of Amy and Bryan at Chateau Wyuna at Mt Evelyn in Victoria. The venue was so picturesque and really amazing, that it just helped to make the day so much more special for my lovely friends.

It was perfect weather of around 24 degrees and the sun shined down during the ceremony.

Bryan and his brother Jason waited patiently for the bride to arrive, and unlike any bride I know she actually arrived on time, in fact was a little early, and had some time for more photos before walking down the isle

Amy and her dad shared a laugh with each other on the way down the isle

The ceremony

Its official - Man and Wife:

I couldn't resist a big cuddle, I was so proud and happy for Amy and Bryan
