Mums Group 2010 Christmas Get together

Our annual mums group get together was held at Amy's house this year, and while we are missing a few of our original girls and kids, the numbers have still certainly expanded, with the addition of Braydon this Christmas which is Vanessa's little boy.

6 White Boomers...... December 2010

A little Australian nativity scene is set up every year in Gawler, and since '6 White Boomers' is one of Harrison's favourite Christmas carols, he loves it here, and well it is free and never crowded like the brewery lights so every time we come to Gawler around this time of year, it is a tradition to stop and reflect.

I see my name in shiny lights...... December 2010

I have two jobs and well I can honestly say that I love my job at the Entertainment Centre. For our Christmas dinner they put on a show and 1st class dinner for all their staff and we all even got to have our name in shiny lights on the display outside Port Road, which is a spot normally reserved for feature celebrity's - Hey it is the only time my name will be displayed like this, so I am going to take it while I can.

Putting up the tree - November 2010

Look at these two spunky little Men putting up our Christmas tree. Wow honestly where does the time go, they are both looking so big. I really cherish these moments in their age of innocence.

2010 Christmas Padgeant

The pageant marks the start of Christmas, you know when these lovely floats come by and the familiar clowns that are celebrity's in their own right that it is time to start hanging those decorations and making your way to the magic cave to see Santa.

Thankfully the Christmas pageant was a lovely 26 degrees today instead of 40 degrees that we experienced last year. This was an outing with Harry, Mitch is still a little too young and would not sit still long enough to enjoy (it is your turn next year Mitchy).

We got up nice and early and caught the train to the city, Harry and I had McDonald's for breakfast then walked down to Wakefield street near my work so we could sit and wait for the floats to start coming by.

Of course the way to make time go by is to sit and draw on the road with chalk. I love the pageant, and I love coming to work on the Monday after and look at all the kids drawings that are left for all the world to see.

Graham and Michaels V8 Hotlap - November 2010

I had arranged a surprise for Graham which was to do a hot lap in a V8 race car out at Malalla race track, I kept the secret for weeks and the only clue that I gave Graham was to keep the day free. It was really amusing because he tried to guess what I had planned, I almost had him believed that he was skydiving, but I think he knew me too well, and knew that I would never arrange that - I am too much of a scaredy cat.

When the day came, my ticket was for two people and what better way for Graham to experience this then to do it with his best friend. So he and Michael suited up and did the laps together.

Of course when there were heaps of people doing laps, the waiting is the hard part for both Graham & Michael (above) and poor Mitchell waiting for his dad (below):

Eventually the boys turn came, they jumped into the yellow number 1 car and off they went.

Harrisons School Assembly - October 2010

Well I am told that getting the kids to stand up and sing in school assembly is a way to increase confidence levels, and all the kids looked so cute.

Harrison did not realise I was there at first, but when I was spotted in the crown a huge smile came across his face and I felt like he was singing to me - Yellow Submarine was the song, and all the kids had an absolute ball.

A day caching on route to Clare Valley - August 2010

Well in our household when we are bored and want something to do, we load up the GPS and go for a drive to pick up some geocaches - well that is my choice anyway, Graham just enjoys the drive.
On this day, we decided a drive to the Clare Valley would be nice, we travelled through Tarlee, and other towns picking up some lovely caches.

Yes this bolt on the bridge is also cache, it has been hollowed out and contains a log inside. Very tricky indeed.

This was a big underground cache in Clare, believe it or not we drove all the way to Clare, and by the time we got there, we were exhausted and only picked up the one cache here - oh well something to save for another day.
