Harrisons School Assembly - October 2010

Well I am told that getting the kids to stand up and sing in school assembly is a way to increase confidence levels, and all the kids looked so cute.

Harrison did not realise I was there at first, but when I was spotted in the crown a huge smile came across his face and I felt like he was singing to me - Yellow Submarine was the song, and all the kids had an absolute ball.

A day caching on route to Clare Valley - August 2010

Well in our household when we are bored and want something to do, we load up the GPS and go for a drive to pick up some geocaches - well that is my choice anyway, Graham just enjoys the drive.
On this day, we decided a drive to the Clare Valley would be nice, we travelled through Tarlee, and other towns picking up some lovely caches.

Yes this bolt on the bridge is also cache, it has been hollowed out and contains a log inside. Very tricky indeed.

This was a big underground cache in Clare, believe it or not we drove all the way to Clare, and by the time we got there, we were exhausted and only picked up the one cache here - oh well something to save for another day.

Mitchell does his Swimming Lessons

Well Master Mitchell has now commenced his swimming lessons and has taken to the water like a little fish - actually he is so unlike his brother, while Harrison was always cautious around the water, Mitchell shows no fear, he jumps from the edge of the pool straight in.

He does not like to put his face in the water yet, but has excelled in his classes so far. His only disadvantage is that he is such a strong willed little boy, he prefers to do what he wants to do rather than what the instructor wants him to do.

Harrison Turns 5 - The Party - July 2010

Well I cant have my boy turn 5 and not have a party for him, and to be honest with that many screaming kids running around I couldnt think of a better place to have it than good old McDonalds, where the kids could run around, scream, make a mess and burn off all their energy, and best of all I did not have to really do a single thing.

Well I did have to do a fair bit of organising, to keep the Macca's staff on thier toes, but the birthday boy had a great time and really enjoyed his day.

Harrison Turns 5 - July 2010

Harrison celebrated his 5th birthday by of course going to school, he turned 5 in his first week.

It was funny he was so excited about his birthday that he crept into our room at some unmentionable hour and of course fell asleep next to dad.

As per my previous posts for birthday celebrations, Harrison is always fairly specific on what he wants for his gift, and it usually corresponds to his latest phase. As a five year old, the biggest thing around is Transformers and therefore Harrison wanted an Optimus Prime Transformer which he happily received.
For his actual birthday we did an ice cream cake because I was going to be creative and do a Transformer cake for his party (see the next post)

Happy birthday my gorgeous boy

First Day of School - July 2010

Well when your baby is ready for school, there is no describing the feeling that you have all of a sudden lost your little boy. I know it sounds stupid, because he will always be my baby, but now he has an independence, that kind of feels like mum is not needed as much as before. (sob sob)

Any way here are pictures of my beautiful boy on his first day of school.

I had to improvise on the school shirt, because they were ordered but were not received until the end of the first week of school.

The Kindy Graduation - June 2010

Well for Kindergarten there are no special robes or diplomas, what they get upon graduation is a certificate and a folder of photos and Art work completed by my Harrison.

Harrison got to choose a song for class to sing and his choice was 'Home Among the Gum Trees' which was one of his favourites all through Kindy.

So it is official, Harry Mc is now going to be a school boy.

A day of caching and Photography with Lisa - July 2010

Well I don't expect all of my friends to share my love of caching, but a day out in Para Wirra National Park was the perfect compromise with the lovely Lisa for me to do some caching and for Lisa to do some photography. We both got the best of both worlds and both got to do what we loved best.

I don't know how far we walked around the national park, but my goodness did my legs ache after this adventure.

Here are the caching pictures:
